[RANKINGS] Top 10 Music Videos of 2012

Music Videos are the most important part of the promotions! They make the songs visual. And Music Videos should be visually pleasing am I right? Here is my Top 10 Music Videos of 2012 (meaning that I enjoyed from a kpop point of view).

10. B.A.P. - No Mercy & B.AP. - Power
(even though the actual song "Power" sucked)
9. SNSD - Flower Power
8. EXID - Every Night
7.  Block B - Nillili Mambo
6. Nicole - Lost
5. Infinite - The Chaser
4. Teen Top - Going Crazy & Teen Top - Be Ma Girl

3. Dal Shabet - Hit U

I ended up loving this group from this song and music video. I didn't think much of them until this song and video released. If you haven't watched this video or heard this song GO NOW!

Pink blood, awesome choreography, gorgeous girls, and pink blood. Did I mention pink blood?

I watched this over and over. I'm in love with everything about them now. The song and the choreography...So delicious. This goes on the list just for the ending parts alone.
Gangsta Jiyul.

2. EXO - MAMA

Even though I think everyone blows EXO out of proportion. I will not deny the fact that I enjoyed their music video a lot! From what SM usually gives us for most of their groups, "factory Music Videos" with a bunch of lights and shiny outfits. This was different. Not to mention EXO and their powerful dance sequences leave you breathless. I didn't even think I'd end up liking this Music Video, this song, or this group. But I did. It was fun to watch them with all their alien powers. The visuals...Oh lawd the visuals were smexy.

1. Ga In - Bloom

This video was so fantastically beautiful that I'm kind of lost for words. It's the best music video I've seen in kpop in a very long time. I really enjoyed this. I think this might be my favorite kpop music video period.

The colors were absolutely stunning. Ga In of course was VERY beautiful. She never ceases to amaze me. Even the awkward scene of her masturbating on a kitchen floor was enjoyable (oh yeah). The "sex" scene was actually kind of cute and sexy to me. I mean they had sex with clothes on.

The lightness of this music video takes you to different place. And there is eye candy far as the eye can see. I don't know...It was just magical I guess.

Must Watch

T-ara - Day By Day
This music video would have been number one if Ga In and Bloom wasn't so awesome. Bloom took the spot by just a bit.
It's like watching a good movie only it's a music video. In this kpop world where most music videos look exactly the same T-ara breathes some life into the industry with their in-depth storyline music videos. A definite must-watch. I wouldn't watch it over and over because it's too long but it's definitely beautiful.

Worse Music Video

I really don't need to say much.

[OPINION]MAMA: BAP VS. EXO

Oh hey, long time no see ^__^

It's that time a year ladies and gentlemen! It's the MAMAs! WOOOOOO..But really we all know it's A.K.A. for "time to watch two or three fandoms fight over a rookie award."

And guess who's fighting this year? Yes you guessed it! BABYs and whatever the fuq EXO fans are called.

Ok so, just to let you guys know, I'm actually a hardcore BABY and semi-Exotic (Luv me some EXO-M). I think all this bullshit fighting is absolutely uncalled for. It's just an award AND it's not even the only rookie award. I get it though, they worked hard all year for this award and you guys both think your respective group deserves it.

But I'm going to have to stop Exotics right there though. I love EXO and I'm not trying to say they don't deserve this award. But fuck. BAP has promoted FIVE, not ONE, not TWO, but FIVE, songs this year. Dude they have released more albums in one year than most nugu groups even have in their entire career before they're forgotten.

I don't know but I think that deserves a little recognition. Not only did they promote five songs but those five songs AND the albums were made with great quality each and every time.
EXO is a great group with amazing aspects but they only promoted one song and left us wanting more.

Anyway, besides that I was highly upset that groups such as BTOB and EXID weren't nominated for the rookie award. And of course Evol wasn't nominated but I wasn't expecting to see them.

BUT SPICA AND AILEE SO WOO FOR THAT!

Everyone can't be nominated but I still don't understand how AOA is nominated over EXID. Whatevzz though. I am also highly upset that Super Junior is winning over Psy for Artist of The Year and Song of The Year. Like wtf...You're kidding right?

But then again, this voting process is nothing but fans voting based on their fandoms and not using rationale or logic. Or taking achievement into consideration. Gangnam Style may not be some amazing ballad but the song has taken kpop far beyond anything Super Junior has done in their entire career, over the course of a couple of months. Whether it's good or bad heh yeah...

Me on the other hand, I don't vote that way. If I did, I'd be voting for 4minute for song of the year and everything else they were nominated in, but I didn't. Because even though I'm a die-hard 4nia, their song was no where near as great as many of the other songs nominated.

I didn't even vote for 4minute at all actually. Not because I didn't think they deserved it but it's just I use rationale and other artist were obviously better this year.

[OPINION] Is B.A.P. Over-extending Themselves?

We all love B.A.P.
Who doesn't? Right?

But have you heard? They may be planning to squeeze in one more comeback before the end of this year or comeback early early next year. What am I thinking you say?
"How many fucking times are they going to comeback in one year?????"

I mean really I love them, I'm an Admin at their damn forum, I spend a lot of time working for these boys. I love them to death. But one thing I can't stand is what I call "The Beyonce Promotions". It's where an artist won't take a break, they just keep going and going and popping up and popping up. To the point where no one cares about them because they're always there.

There is no built up anticipation for B.A.P. because they just keep coming back too soon and it's not like they're not popular and NEED the constant promoting. I just think another album this year or early next year would be overkill. They need to take a long break and them BAM...Comeback. Like....Hm. Block B. Look how much anticipation is behind their comeback. Why? Because we haven't seen them since early this year.

It sounds like I'm saying that I'm tired of seeing them. I'm really not. Yet. But I will get tired of seeing them, it's only natural. I want their to be some spazz effect when they announce a comeback not a "Oh B.A.P. is coming back......Again," effect.

So yeah, if they comeback again this year or early early next year, I'll officially say TS ent over-extended them. I mean I'll be happy but I probably won't be hype.

Another thing, when do they get a fucking break. I mean they're working themselves to death because if they're not promoting, they're gearing up for a round of promotions......Wat.
Do they even sleep!? Give them a very long vacation.

This is B.A.P.'s timeline. Mind you the work and time they have to put in, in between comebacks for another comeback AND count in all the time that it takes to promote a song. About 4 weeks (a month)?

[SPECIAL]Then&Now: SNSD

SNSD, you either love or hate them but they're still number one. I personally love them but I have to admit in their early days I wasn't a big fan. In fact, I had a huge dislike for them. I thought they were just horrible actually; personality wise and music wise. But I've come to really love these girls because they have literally evolved over the several years they have been promoting, as people and as musicians.

Into the New World
Around this time I wasn't a fan of them. Like I said I didn't even like them. I frankly wasn't paying attention to them around this time either. I don't even remember SNSD debuting. I was too busy with DBSK. But basically SNSD was a batch of 9 young fresh faces. Don't they look like babies haha. I don't remember 'Into the New World' being a huge hit, if it was I would have known who SNSD was at that time. The first time I ever heard of them is when they were caught up in all those rumors so I didn't get a good first impression of them. The first song I ever heard by them was 'Kissing You' and I kinda liked it.

But they still annoyed me. They were too girly and didn't have enough sass for me.

Gee
I think we all know what song put SNSD on the map. Whether you liked them or not, you couldn't get this song out of your head. It dominated the charts for weeks and weeks, which is hard to do in the constantly changing kpop industry. We honestly thought this song would never stop winning. Gee was catchy, fresh, fun, cute, and just addicting.
It's the song that made me notice them and it's the song that started the SNSD craze. It's the song we're all still jamming to even till this day. But even though this song was really good, a lot of people still hated them. And this song just fueled the hate because it made them a bigger target. Now they were not only cutesy but they were becoming the most popular girl group in Korea.

Genie
I think Genie was the first time that SNSD showed they could be a little sexy. The main complaint that SNSD started to get as they got older was that a lot of haters would say they were too old to be doing girly songs. Genie was the first song where they showed some sex appeal. I mean c'mon what's not sexy about 9 Asian girls in short Marine/Pilot outfits and pumps singing about granting your any wish. I really started to like them at this point because they showed me they were more than just 9 girly suck-ups.

Oh!
The next big hit to come from SNSD was Oh!. They pulled yet another catchy, fresh, fun song out of their magic bag. The song easily swept the charts as their previous songs did. I, along with many other people, loved the song. It was super fucking addicting and that second verse kills me every time. However, no matter how good this song was, I was still wishing they would move on to more mature songs. The cutesy thing was starting to get really boring REALLY fast.

Run Devil Run (Oh! Repackaged)
This is the song that officially made me somewhat of a Sone, if you can call me that. Even though this song was basically a remake, it's still the song that turned me into a SNSD fan completely. I still think this is their best song till this day. I also think this is what marked the end of SNSD's cutesy days. From here on out they were a lot more mature than their previous songs.

Hoot
Hoot was not one of my favorites and I don't think it was as big of a hit as their other songs. The dance is what was so fun to me. I think it's the first SNSD dance I actually sat and learned. But the image and song wasn't too girly at all. They definitely didn't return to their old image. The Hoot image was actually quite sexy.

SNSD Enters Japan
SNSD's 1st full-length Japanese album is considered, by most Sones, to be their best album period. I can sorta kinda agree. From the albums that I have heard this one is definitely the best. I can't name one song I've heard from this album that is bad. It includes the super addicting and well constructed Mr. Taxi and Bad Girl. Bad Girl which is probably my favorite Japanese track from SNSD. Every single one of their original Japanese releases were very well done. Although their initial entrance into Japanese with the remakes was annoying and weak but hey all the groups did it.

The Boys
The Boys is one of those songs were the fans are 50/50. Some loved it some hated it. I remember running to my school library with my friend and spazzing my ass off 20 minutes before class. It was a great song and a great album. Not their best but it was sufficient. It might have been a bit disappointing to some because it was a full-length album that had a lot of anticipation.

SNSD has come from a group of 9 young ladies to a group of 9 beautiful women. We've literally watched these girls grow up on the stage. Whether you like them or not they are a force to be reckoned with in Asia. They are undeniably (maybe?) the top girl group in the entire continent. Even if you've never listened to their songs, you've probably heard of them or have seen at least one of them somewhere haha. Many people still to this day don't like them even if they've grown up and started to produce mature music, which was the only complaint in the first place. People just find a new reason to hate them. But eventually it's hard to resist them. You eventually end up converting like myself.

[REVIEW] New Releases

There has been a whole lot going on this month as far as new music! I've picked out some of the releases I've been anticipating, was impressed by, and releases that were just the shit.

Rania - Style

I'm a hardcore Rania fan (header, obviously) and I've been waiting for this release for just about forever. And I am highly upset and disappointed. First off, once again there is a member change. Rania loses a member literally every promotional cycle. Jooyi, the voice of Rania, is no where to be found. Not only that but this song really isn't that great. The MV is EXTREMELY cheap looking and their styling horrendous. This is no where near as good as Dr. Feel Good or Pop Pop Pop. And we waited all this time for a digital single. Hopefully they are just using this to stall some time to edit the songs on the real album, due to Jooyi's departure, to hold us off for the real deal or at least more songs. I'm at least hoping the song will grow on me?

I just can't believe YG produced this shit. He's better than this.

Rating: 3/5

SPICA - I'll Be There

SPICA, one of my top favorite rookies this year, this is, what? Their second comeback? And it's pretty awesome. It's suppose to be a little 90s-ish or something. Whatever. The song is really cute! The dance is really adorable and of course their vocals are on point. It's definitely a solid release but it's not as great as Painkiller. It's good for a small second release though. It's probably not as good to me because they tried a brighter image this time around. It works well for them, but I like their darker image a tad bit better. But this is a refreshing single for them so they don't become repetitive.

Rating: 4/5

BTOB - WOW

They should have named this song Unf
BTOB is back with a sexy as fuck image and that dance makes me want to hump them. I reaaalllyy like this song and MV and everything. I think it's definitely an upgrade for them, because I really didn't care for their previous songs. In fact, I don't have any of them on my mp3 player. They were nice songs but not attention-grabbing. However, THIS ONE...I'm in love with these boys after watching this shit. Ilhoon can have anything he wants. Noona loves you!!

Rating: 4.5/5

GD - Crayon

If you asked me what I thought of GD about 4 weeks ago I would have said, "GD is a defective rapper."  I still kinda think that actually. HOWEVER, this album, this MV, these releases he's been doing....Definitely without a doubt are giving me GD feels. I loved One of a Kind, not so much with the other song. AND THEN BAM he releases Crayon. I really love this MV, this song, this everything. I think it's very different, it's very GD and the MV keeps you super entertained.

On a side note: I also listened to Light It Up and I was practically sold. Tablo, GD, AND Dok2, please hold me now....

Rating: 5/5

U-kiss - Stop Girl

This is not a ranking. I'm not putting U-kiss above GD. However, I would if it was a ranking and here's why. This song is the best fucking song U-kiss has EVER released as a title track. They finally picked the right fucking song for once (well I haven't listened to the entire album) but their title tracks usually suck ass! This song is amazing; it has more of a R&B sound compared to their past releases and it really suits them well. Surprisingly heh. The MV is very simple and chic and just all around unf. Even Eli's rap is good, holy shit.
They're not as cheesy as they usually are. And I watched their performance of this song and I was SOOOOO impressed.

I'm really proud of them and I reaallyy hope they win because they deserve it with song.

Rating: 5/5

[OPINION] Gangnam Style: Beneficial or No?

Gangnam Style.

Everyday this song is getting more popular and popular. All my non-kpop friends are jamming to this every single day at school. The song is literally inescapable. It's the number one most liked video on youtube, it's the number song on itunes chart, Psy has been making big-time appearances left and right, radio stations are playing it endlessly. It's come to the point where anybody associated with the song or MV has become instantly famous overseas; Hyunah (who was already famous over here, all my friends already knew her from Bubble Pop) and The Elevator Guy.

And some kpop fans are actually upset about this? Why? Isn't this a good thing!?

Well some kpop fans are saying that this song doesn't deserve to be such a big hit when there are SO many other great kpop songs. Other fans are saying, well hey you're all haters who don't want kpop spread.

My opinion?

Well I don't think Gangnam Style is actually "spreading kpop" to be quite honest. I don't think it's helping kpop anymore than the Wonder Girls are in the US. It's more or so helping Psy as an artist. But it's not making people go "HEY THIS IS THAT KPOP STUFF, LET ME CHECK THAT OUT SINCE THIS SONG IS SOOO GOOD THERE MIGHT BE MORE!"
Most people who are listening to and going crazy over Gangnam Style honestly refer to it as a "youtube sensation" rather than a kpop song.

So no, I don't think Gangnam Style is benefiting kpop all that much. It's just been a HUGE hit for Psy himself. I don't really agree with people saying that it doesn't deserve all the attention it's getting; I think that's just being haterific. However, I do somewhat agree that while non-kpop fans are going nuts over this song, us kpop fans are kind of like, "Ok well what about the other amazing songs that exist, that kpop has to offer and nobody gives a fuck?"

When your friends will jam to Gangnam Style all day long but then say that everything else kpop is basically shit...It's kind of hard not to be butthurt haha. Gangnam Style is an AMAZINGLY catchy song, it's not like it's some amazingly orchestrated song with banging vocals and tear-jerking beats. So why is Gangnam Style any different from any other kpop song. Kpop IS 90% catchy songs anyway. What made this song catch on?

Psy has sass, he's different, he wasn't trying to become the next big thing in America and it just happened for him. That's how it always happens. It's always the LAST person you'd think that makes it. Another thing I noticed about Psy is that his shit ain't even in English. These kpop stars who are trying to launch themselves into America should get their notepads out...He didn't team up with big-time American producers or artists. They came running to him after the fact!

Don't try to Americanize yourself, go in as a kpop star.
Another thing.....The Power of Youtube.

[OPINION] Is It Possible to Not Like a Member?

This has been a topic that continues to keep popping up over and over...I was reading some other k-pop blog last night because I couldn't sleep and had nothing else better to do and she had a post about this. Her opinion was what most people say;
"You can't call yourself a real fan if you don't like all the members."

I personally disagree and here's why.

First off, you will never like EVERYONE. There will always be those people in your life that you just don't click with. Some people you won't even be able to tolerate and for good reason. I have those people in my life, my friends have those people in their life, my mother, my father, and you.
And I think it's the same way with groups. You come to love the entire group except maybe that one person or two people. But does that make you a bad fan? Or not a real fan. So because I don't fancy Doojoon, I'm not a  real b2uty or I shouldn't call myself a b2uty?
Well, I think that's just bullshit and being unrealistic.

As long as I have a legit reason for not being oppa's biggest fan, I think it's ok to not like his ass and still enjoy BEAST. (lol Using Doojoon as an example because I don't dislike him but I don't get good vibes from him either.)

Second off, there is difference between not liking a certain member and just not valuing a certain member. A.K.A. saying things like; "Why is Yoona even in the group...She can't do anything. They would do fine without her." Now THAT is not being a real fan. I think to be a good fan you don't have to personally like every member's personality but I do believe you must value every member.

And finally, I think if you continue to like a member and you know they have bad character but you just ignore it, then you're not only a fake fan but you're just a fake person in my opinion. Say, it's revealed that a member is a total and complete asshole and you just ignore that fact and continue to say they're a good person. What the fuck? I just can't do that. But then if I don't I'm not a real fan right?

Now if you just don't like that member for no reason at all then yeah you're pretty much fucked because you have a life problem. You're one of those people who just say, "I don't like suchsuch because they're too pretty (or some other irrelevant dumb reason or no reason at all)."

But yeah, if you do have a good reason, then someone telling you you're not a good fan for that is spewing bullshit.
You won't like everyone and everyone's personality.
and
EVERYBODY WILL NOT BE GOOD PEOPLE.
That's the truth, yay or nay?

[OPINION] Too Soon for a T-ara Comeback?

When the T-ara scandal thingy first happened I was like, "Yeah I'm not really gonna blog about that...Cause I don't want to." But I'm pretty sure everybody knows the story and the bullying-scandal's details. I don't need to tell you right? right?

Well, that vicious scandal happened not too long ago and T-ara is already coming back this September 3rd. Most groups when they go through a scandal, they hold off on promoting for a whileeee especially scandals that cost them some members. T-ara released a hand-written apology letter this week to further cushion their upcoming comeback. The original date was August 15th and they pushed it back to September 3rd.

My thing is, it's almost like they're saying "Yeah ok we lost a member, let's move on and continue like usual." Um no you had these girls bully a member out of her spot and now they're coming back after a month? First off you guys should have been a little bit more strategic in releasing your apology letter. That letter should have been released WEEKS before you announce a comeback not all at the same time. It just looks fake when the letter is actually pretty solid and forgivable.

Honestly, I loved T-ara, I don't agree with what they did and I'm on Hwayoung's side but after reading up on the situation a little more, I did start to feel bad for members like Eunjung. She took a huge blow from her carelessness. But we all make mistakes right?

Can I forgive them and continue to enjoy their music?
Yeah probably.
I'll probably dislike some members forever though (i.e. Jiyeon) and I will definitely NEVER look at them the same. I no longer care for their personalities so therefore it's all about the music to me with them.

But do I think this comeback is too soon?
Fuck yeah I do. They need to fall back.

And if they are going to comeback this soon, they better bring it. Because they will be scrutinized. This song better be the best damn song, performance, and music video I've ever seen from them.

[RANKINGS] Top 5 Rookie Female Rappers

There has been quite a surge of good quality rookie girl groups this year and with new groups comes new rappers. Usually I don't really give a flying fuck about girl group rapper because they're usually horrible and don't even deserve to be called "Rappers". But lately in K-pop not only has there been a HUGE influx of Hip Hop themed groups but a lot of those groups have been girl groups. And even the groups without a hip hop theme have been producing some AMAZING female rappers. These girls definitely deserve some shine because they're turning the typical squeaky voiced k-pop female rapper image around.

Top 5 Rookie Female Rappers

5. Zinni B-Girl Rapper of GLAM

I don't know what it is about this girl but I love her so much haha. She's gorgeous and her spunk level is out of this world. Zinni comes in at number 5 because even though her rapping skills are definitely better than 98% of girls that hold the female "rapper" position of their group, it's not up to par to actual female rappers. She could use some improving but it's definitely there. She has the voice and the flow, she just needs to hone it. Another thing about Zinni is that we haven't really seen a lot from her as far as rapping goes but the stuff I have seen is pretty good. I can't wait to see where she goes and how much she improves in GLAM's future albums.

  • 3.5/5.0

4. J-DA Rapping Maknae of EVOL

I think a lot of people overlook J-da as a rapper because Juni J is so damn good. But let's not deprive little Yeonju of her spot as one of the best because this chick is pretty badass too. I actually stopped and listened to her rapping on Evol's album and I'm just like "Wow...She's REALLY good." She actually reminds of Pyo because of her deep voice and baby face. I think her rapping is way better than Pyo's though lol oops did I say that?

  • 4.0/5.0

3. Lime

Yes, I know what you're thinking, "Bitch are you crazy? She's above J-da and she's in some girly group?" I know I know. Hello Venus one of the girliest groups to debut this year IF NOT THE girliest group this year. But guess what, don't let the cute face and image fool you, this girl can rap. Not only does she rap extremely well to be in some girly group, but she writes her own raps and writes raps for other people. I don't know, I just have a lot of respect for her after discovering that she actually writes. I put her at number 3 because who would have thought that she actually had some rapping skills being apart of a group with such a girly image. Where most groups with that image...Their rappers...Let's just say are shit.

By the way, it was during  this song that I realized she could rap.

  • 4.0/5.0

2. LE of EXID

By far my favorite rookie rapper this year! I think the word "swag" is hella over-used but it's literally the only way to describe this woman. Her everything is just unf and swagged out. Some people say she's a try-hard, I say you're a haterrrrr. Not only is she fabulous but her rapping skills? Fuck yeah they're up-to-par. She could have done perfectly fine as a solo female rapper. Her flow and voice is flawless. The thing I love about her rapping is that it has a VERY effortless sound. She doesn't need to get all hype and jumpy, she can just sit and rap with her poker-face and kill it.

  • 5.0/5.0

1. Juni. J (Jucy) of Evol

Honestly, it was a tie between LE and Juni. J. Juni. J only comes in at number one because unlike LE I've heard a lot more of Juni. J's rapping and this girl has a great range of rap styles. She released a mixtape of compiled songs and I was quite impressed and of course there is Evol's album where she basically molested the songs with her raps. Juni doesn't even need any improving because she's already there. If you compare her rapping from the mixtape to the album, she's definitely already had her fair share of improvements anyway. In the album her rapping is a lot more polished and on point. Training has definitely done her well.

Her and LE can definitely stand with some of the best female rappers in k-hip hop, in my opinion.

  • 5.0/5.0

Now I can actually say, "No. You're wrong, there are good female rappers in K-pop too not just K-hip hop."

!EDIT!
One of my commenters just bought this to light and I couldn't help it.

Yezi of FIESTAR
I won't even say anything, just watch.

[OPINION] Hyunah Going Solo Again? Good or Bad?

I'm sure everyone has gotten the memo by now, Hyunah is once again making her solo return and not everybody is too happy about it. Not only is Hyunah going solo again but Cube is preparing her for a global debut.

What does this mean for 4minute? What do I think?

I'll say this right off the bat, I love Hyunah's solo ventures. I really do, I think it's wonderful that's she's doing her thing, and I really am looking forward to this comeback. However, I am starting to become truly concerned with what this does to 4minute.

I feel like Cube is focusing a tad bit too much attention on Hyunah when 4minute as a group is still struggling to stay relevant. Even their hoobaes are starting to surpass them on the relevancy list. So, my question is, if Cube knows this then why the fuck are they in talks with American agencies to debut Hyunah? That's their only concern? What about 4minute getting crushed everytime they make a comeback? Why is 4minute only coming back ONCE a year when they're not even established yet?

Cube wake the hell up and smell the coffee...

I agree with most 4nias that this starting to get a bit ridiculous however, I don't agree with some 4nias new hate campaign against Hyunah. Why would you blame her for something she probably can't even fully control. I'm sure she wants 4minute to succeed also. So all you "4nias" in this hate campaign need to sit the fuck down. And if you're going to continue in this campaign, can you please not walk around claiming to be a 4nia? Cause you're not.

I'm not saying I'm not happy about her comeback because tbh I spazzed like crazy when it was announced. She's my girl and I'll always love her and support her. But I will never deny the fact that the rest of 4minute is being treated unfairly and they are under-promoted.

The comeback I'm happy about...But debuting her in the US/Globally while 4minute is still 2nd-3rd rate kpop stars? That's a slap in the face to the rest of 4minute.

[OPINION] Rookie Award Predictions - First Half

The most important, argued over, and talked about award of the year in kpop is the rookie award. Receiving a rookie of the year award is a one time only honor so groups strive the entire year to get it. Naturally each fandom thinks their rookies deserve it. Here is my unbias (lying) opinion on who should get it and who will get it regardless.

EXO

I'm pretty sure everyone knows this but they'll win. They would win even if they named their album 'Shit' and sung about animal dung. And no I'm not saying they don't deserve it because I believe that all these groups deserve it, that no one deserves the award more than the other. Because guess what they all poured hours into their music and performances. But what I am saying is that everything that has the letters SM on it is automatically a hit. They don't have to try very hard to gain the majority of votes just because of the company they're under.

EXO has only promoted one song so far this year and with just that song alone they can win. Do I think that they should win as far as their music goes?

Ummmmm......No. Their songs weren't even all that great. The only reason I really like them is because they are in my opinion some of the best dancers in kpop, and definitely the best dance group that has debuted this year, but that's not enough to win an award. And to me they barely made an impact. I feel like they came and went. They need to make another comeback before the awards arrive.

Oh but their MVs were also *__*

B.A.P.

B.A.P. is probably EXO's biggest competition because these dudes are hungry for that rookie award. They debuted and came back twice in the same year. That's crazy! Not a lot of groups do this. Actually I've never heard of any group doing this.

However, I won't even sit here and be bias, I'm not all too crazy as far as them winning because of their title tracks either. All of their title tracks have been basically the same song or EXTREMELY similar. The songs are similar enough for you to notice the pattern. The pattern is great but it's still a pattern and it gets boring after a while. I think if they still continue doing it after 'No Mercy', which I loved, I'll get tired of it and really start complaining.

But it's the songs on their actual album that really impress me. Songs like "It's All Lies" and " Dancing In The Rain" and "Voice Mail" will be their winning ticket but the title song is always the one that is looked at. Their second album I think was their best so far because I wasn't even a big fan of the first set of songs to be quite honest.

The reason why I love B.A.P. so much besides their personalities is for their impressive MVs and performances. These boys are superb on stage, they always give you a show and for that yes I think they should win some awards just for banging themselves up on stage. If you're breaking bones from practicing and performing and almost setting yourself on fire on set, then yeah you need to get an award.

Their overall presence deserves an award.

Ailee

As far as solo artists go, yes it has to be Ailee. This girl HAS to win some awards. Even though she's only promoted one song so far she has definitely captured a lot of attention with those vocals. She's definitely got my attention and I was truly impressed. I've known about her since her YT days but she's come a very long way.

Heaven is one of the best songs of the year in my opinion. I usually don't even go nuts over ballads but that song is truly a classic and the her performances were mostly flawless.

Evol

No matter how much I want them to win, I know they won't and we all know why. The same reason why Block B didn't win a single award after dominating the other rookies, besides B1A4, last year. Fucking N-Train was nominated before Block B. Block B wasn't even NOMINATED AT ALL. Who the fuck is N-Train? No offense, I heard they're awesome vocalist but come on. They made NO impact at all..Ugh ok that's another post for another day lol.

Anyway the same will most likely happen to Evol. I really do want them to get at least one award because I'm still playing their well-produced album everyday on replay. The songs were really well done for a rookie group, their performances have been really impressive so far. When they get on stage they really know how to capture your full attention and their vocals are so far on point.

SPICA

SPICA deserves to win something..........
Yeah they do.
BOTH of their songs were amazing ESPECIALLY Painkiller. ALL of their performances were flawlessly executed. But guess what, they won't win because people are stupid and don't judge by good quality music. They judge by other shit that is totally irrelevant, i.e. who has the best aegyo.

If they were to win I would cry lol. Because I really want people to appreciate this group as one of the best. I mean seriously how many groups are there in kpop where EVERY member can sing? Count them on your fingers and I bet you won't get past 5, if that. Especially in the female group category.

I really think it's going to come down to EXO and B.A.P. winning most of the awards in the male rookie category. For obvious reasons. These two groups are obviously dominating the rest of the rookie boys. If any other boy groups stood a chance it will probably be Nu'est and BTOB. Those will probably be the four nominees.

The girls never really have the same winners unless one of the big three releases a girl group. Which YG is suppose to and their groups will probably win the awards to be honest. But from the girls that have debuted so far, I think it will be between Hello Venus and AOA. I would love if D-unit won something too, because not only did they release a full album but it was an amazing album for a rookie group.

Hello Venus and AOA will probably win because they are what Korea likes but you can never really tell with the girls. But the year isn't done yet so who knows what the hell is to come. New groups debut every freaking week.

[OPINION] Can Non-Asians Really Make It In Korea?

Before I start this post, I am NOT Asian. Ok leggo.

Just recently....Chad Future made his Music Video debut onto the kpop scene and of course the reaction was a disaster. This made me wonder...Can non-Asians really make it in Korea? And my answer is "Hmm yeah maybe." and here's why.

First off, Chad Future will most likely not make it. Not trying to be a bitch but his Korean sucks, he's hella awkward, he's trying too hard, and...Yeah you get the point. Like I said before I'm ALL for what Chad is trying to do however, he's doing it the WRONG way. He's trying REALLY hard to fit into the typical "K-pop" image and we all know that only works if you're Asian.

If you're going to be a non-Asian going into the K-pop industry, take what you do well, and do it in Korean. Don't try to BE Korean. That won't work because you're NOT Korean or Asian for that matter.

Now we all know that Asia/Asians don't have the best rep for accepting Non-Asians especially into their music industry, but they're getting better, cut them some slack lol. If you're going to succeed in any Asian music industry it would probably be Japan. Their artists come in colors of the rainbow! I've seen it all. But Korea is a different story. We have RARELY seen attempts by non-Asians to crack the Korean market so when we do it's all eyes on them. But of course they never succeed because only the international fans are watching. And they usually try too fucking hard.

So is being Asian or partially Asian the only way? Nope. And here's why Chad Future really sucks.

His name is Shayne Orok.

And yes he's half-FILIPINO half-White. But the kid appears to be white. If no one told you, you would think he was white and everybody knows Filipinos are more Latino than anything LOL. This boy has accomplished what many other could not..He's seen some success. He got pretty far on 'Birth of a Great Star', he has his own radio show, he's actually performed on music shows, I actually know his damn songs and their REALLY good, his Korean is GREAT! And he's fucking adorable....

This is how you do it. You don't come in and try to look like Teen Top or SHINee. BE YOURSELF! Shane Orok hasn't changed since his YT days. He's the closest to a good example for any Non-Asian (even though he's partially Asian, Koreans don't know that) that are going to try and come to Korea and be K-pop stars.

I support the influx of non-Asians coming into K-pop 100%. Fuck I'm not Asian! I'd love to see K-pop become a little more diverse like Japan. But not like this. We can't do it this way....It just looks dumb.

If I were to debut in Korea, as a young Black female, who is pretty cute if I do say so myself, I would never try to be like f(x) or Kara, I'm setting myself up for failure. And that's what Chad Future tried to do, he saw all the most popular boy groups and tried to emulate them.

Maybe YG will unveil that supposed African-American trainee they have been holding for years.

[RANKINGS] Top 5 Dumbest Fanwars/Controversies

I think we can all agree. Fanwars (and some controversies) are dumb. All of them. But some of them are just............Oh god.

 5. Sones & ELFs: The Never Ending War

These mofos are ALWAYS fighting and honestly I don't even know why and I honestly don't care. The fighting is so annoying I don't even keep up. But these two fanclubs are the poster child for fanwaring against each other.

4. They Kissed?

Boy group members have doing fan service since the dawn of time. So why the hell is this any different? A lot of people were 50/50 with this, some say it was nasty and other thinks its hot. But there was actually Shawols who left the "fandom" because of this incident. Well bitch then you wasn't a Shawol anyways because SHINee has been getting horny with each other since they debuted. And I find it to be kinda hot actually. Stop being homophobic! If he wants to sex the boy on stage let it happen!!

I wanna add this in too because I think there is a double standard here. Taeyeon and Sooyoung "appeared" to have kissed each other during a Music Core performance and most people said that this was awkward or wrong. How the fuck is this awkward or wrong but boys can do it and most people will think it's perfectly normal? O.O If anything when two girls kiss it's hot and when two apparently straight boys do it, it's weird. So why was this a scandal when boys do it ALL THE TIME?

3. The Color Orange Is Ours!

And here we are into the top three and so it begins. Ok this is how this one goes. Cho PD finally got down to getting an official color for Block B and he just so happen to pick the color 'Orange'. Every kpop star has an official color and copying another star's color is like MAD offensive apparently. 'Orange' is the official color of Shinhwa. Block B's team announces that 'Orange' will be there color and all hell breaks loose. Shinhwa fans go nuts and start attacking Block B for stealing their color...Their COLOR! This fanwar was huge and lasted for a couple days. Over a COLOR. Sit the fuck down ok...All the colors have been taken and Shinhwa doesn't even really promote so why not share the color? There are SO many colors taken to the point where groups are using "Pearl Midnight Blue" like what the fuck.

It's a color..Ok a damn color.
Block B's official color is Purple.
Guess what, that was taken too.

2. Dal Shabet Danced With My Oppa!

Dal Shabet and B1A4 put on a frisky performance together and BANAs lose their shit. Shit gets even worse when fans claim Serri ignored a B1A4 member's greeting. Then someone spreads a vicious rumor that a Dal Shabet fan raped a B1A4 fan, a rumor which was said to be false by police. And basically it just gets stupid from there. This all started because BANAs got butt-hurt that Dal Shabet was getting the goods on live television and started attacking Dal Shabet. Even international fans were going at it saying they didn't understand why it had to be Dal Shabet and not some other group.

A woman's jealousy is vicious my friends.

1. Soy Sauce

It's the second time Block B is the center of a fanwar. They just won't be left the fuck alone. Ever. I don't even know how to explain this one. I don't even get it.

Block B and B1A4 were both featured on a MTV show called 'Match Up'. In one episode they had to retrieve dinner for each other so they would have something to eat during their viewing of the first episode of Match Up (or something along these lines..I've watched every episode 1000 times lol). B1A4 had ordered Soy Sauce Chicken however Block B couldn't find it so they bought Chicken and Soy Sauce separately and Yukwon put the Soy Sauce onto the Chicken. Apparently drowning it.

And yes. This my friend caused the dumbest fanwar I have EVER witnessed. Korean BANAs start to rage and attack Block B, I think a few weeks later actually, saying that Yukwon is being spiteful and disrespectful towards B1A4 and that Block B has no respect for anyone or manners. That he spitefully drowned their chicken in soy sauce so that it would taste nasty.

It's soy sauce. And guess what. B1A4 ate that shit up.

So you see people..Fanwars..They are just..Well dumb. Most of them make no sense and have no logic.

[OPINION] What Happened to Hyunah?

What happened to Hyunah?

She's not dead or anything..It's just I was watching some of her past videos earlier this week with my friends and I was thinking to myself "Wow...What happened to her? I mean like her talent?" Not to sound all harsh or anything but if you compare her past videos to what she does now, it's mind-blowing.

I know you guys have heard all this "Hyuna is a slut. She's not even talented, all she does is shake her ass." "She can't sing and she can't really dance and she certainly can't rap."

For you.

I must admit, that over the years Hyunah's talent has seen a HUGE decline. The more sex-driven her image has become the more talent-less she looks. When Hyunah first came on the scene, she wasn't noticed because she was just sexy, she was noticed because, let's face it, the girl IS one of the best dancers in kpop. She may not be the best vocalist or rapper but I hate when people try to deny her as one of the best dancers.

Let's not forget her 'Change' days which quite frankly I think showcased her best. The choreography wasn't too sexy or too technical. It was just right and she performed just right every time. In her last stage for 'Change' Hyunah pulled out all stops, this is probably the best I've ever seen her vocally and choreography wise.

These days Hyunah is more known for dancing sexily. She was known for it back then but now it's all she ever does. And even now her sexy dancing pales in comparison to her sexy dancing from the past. Below is a video from her Muzik days.

And this video is a bit more recent. All she's doing here is walking around. Seriously. Whereas above she's actually moving her body. It's actually sexy (well her hair and makeup sucked compared to the one below though LOL).

Her 'Touch Me' dance routine is probably my favorite though. I wish she would do more of this. Because once again like 'Change' it's not too sexy and not too technical. It's a mixture of both which is what Hyunah, as a dancer, is suppose to be about.

This takes me to her 'Bubble Pop' days, some people hate it, some people love it. I personally thought it was great. It wasn't the song or the dance though..It was just the whole package. It was sexy, fun, fresh, and fuck it got me up and dancing and that's all that mattered. And besides the fact that she was drop dead gorgeous,  I think she did a pretty good job with the 'Bubble Pop' promos. However, it's still nothing compared to what she did with 'Change'. It was purely sex-driven.

But I mean but c'mon look how much fun she's having here lol.

So my point is, Hyunah has talent, it's there. But it's just being buried deeper and deeper as she gets to be more sex-driven. The funny thing is, I really don't mind her sexy image, she was always sexy. She's obviously a naturally sexy performer. I see a lot of 4nias always saying "Stop forcing her to do sexy concepts." I don't think it's forced. It's just the way she is. People who don't really know Hyunah would never know this but, she's actually a cutie. She's not sexy AT ALL in real life. I think she likes to show this different side of herself on stage. And it feels natural but it's just that lately everything has been ALL sex with her.

And for all the people who are constantly saying they don't understand why she's famous at all, I have a question for you. Do you think you can get up on stage and do what she does? Everyday? I don't think you can. I bet you can't even prance or strut like she does. I know I can't. Fuck I barely WALK correctly in heels.

I think Hyunah is famous because obviously she's sexy but also because she has the whole package. She's a cool chick, she's fun, her music is fun, she definitely has the charisma, and she's daring..(Trouble Maker..C'mon)

She needs to treat her dancing like it's her prized possession because she's lacking in those other areas. So I want her to go back to those days where she actually danced and didn't just prance around in really high heels.
